About Rev. Dr. Terry Hunt

Rev. Dr. Terry Hunt is a native of Rowland, North Carolina, and has served in the North Carolina Annual Conference for 30 years serving as pastor and in extension ministries as the North Carolina Annual Conference Leadership Team Coordinator. In this position, his primary responsibilities were in church revitalization and connecting the local church with resources of the Conference and the General Church. In his role in the Conference, Rev. Hunt coached leaders and congregations, helping maximize the potential of lay and clergy leaders and their churches.

Rev. Hunt has also served churches in both the North Carolina and Kentucky Annual Conferences before retiring from full-time ministry in October 2022.

He holds a B.A. degree from University of North Carolina at Pembroke (1998), a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary (2002), and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Pastorates include the North Carolina and Kentucky Annual Conferences. He has been married to Gloria Hunt for 39 years, and they have three daughters: Kelsey, Lindsey, and Illya; and eleven grandchildren: Peyton, Camden, Laiken, Zoey, Luke, Lyla, Andrew, Brody, Kinsley, Laci, and Austyn Blake.

Rev. Hunt’s leadership includes Chairperson of the Robeson Church and Community Center Board, Chairperson of the Evangelism Committee, Trustee, and Chair of the Native American Ministries Committee for the Kentucky Annual Conference. Within the North Carolina Annual Conference, his service extends to the Native American Ministries Committee, Conference Commission on Evangelism, Conference Missions Committee, Congregational Development Committee, Connectional Table, Episcopacy Committee, Conference Nominations Committee, Board of Ordained Ministry, and the Board of Directors for the General Commission on Religion and Race in Washington, DC.
